Photo access

When you choose a photo, iOS hands Scrub Data a copy of that file. You can grant access to your whole library or to individual photos; the app works the same either way, and limited access is enough. Scrub Data does not browse your library in the background and does not index it.

Photos are held in memory only for as long as the inspection or scrub takes. Nothing is cached between launches.

What the app does with metadata

Metadata is parsed on the device so it can be shown to you and, if you choose, removed. The values Scrub Data reads — coordinates, camera model, capture time and the rest — are displayed on screen and then discarded. They are not stored, logged or transmitted.

Network use

Scrub Data contains no networking code. It makes no requests, opens no sockets and embeds no third-party SDKs, which is why the app works with the device in Airplane Mode. Map imagery on the inspection screen is drawn by Apple's own MapKit framework; when that view is shown, iOS may fetch map tiles from Apple. Those requests contain map tile identifiers, not your photo or its metadata, and they are governed by Apple's privacy policy rather than this one.

On-device storage

The app stores your chosen scrub mode and a small count of how many files you have cleaned, so the home screen can show it. Both live in the app's own container on your device and are removed when you delete the app. Neither is backed by a server.

Purchases

Scrub Data is a one-time purchase handled entirely by the App Store. The developer receives sales reports from Apple in aggregate and never sees your payment details, name or email address.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of Scrub Data changes what it does with your data, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top will change with it.
